afrotc-l: Ranger FTX *Time Critical!*

	Army ROTC has invited Air Force ROTC to participate in an event called 
Ranger FTX with them.  Although I do not have all the details right now 
(Army is still working out some things themselves) it will involve 
paintball between an Army and Air Force team in the Camp McCain wilderness 
area.  As of now it will be played out over two days during the last 
weekend in February.  The army will issue us appropriate gear and land 
navigational equipment.  They also have limited paintball guns and 
protective equipment for a few AF guys who do not have their own.  Here's 
the kicker, both teams will be inserted into the wilderness via Blackhawk 
helicopters.  This will NOT be a fast-rope descent for those of you 
wondering as you have to go to Air Assault School before you can do 
that.  The choppers will simply land and debark troops.  You do get to fly 
there and conduct a chopper insertion, navigate around the wilderness for a 
couple of days, and hunt down some army guys.  For those of you who'd be 
willing to sacrifice a weekend to do some ground-pounding and get a little 
more familiarized with infantry tactics I need an initial interest count 
ASAP to give to the Army and see if it is even feasible.  Shoot me an email 
if you are interested before Monday.  Like I said this is an early workup 
of what we'll be doing, but this is what they've done in the past.  Barring 
what you'll spend on paintball supplies this is also all free.

PS One detail I forgot to mention.  We will be using army equipment, flying 
on army helicopters, and running around on an army base.  As such you will 
need a military ID.  Have a good weekend all.
