Hello, Another week is here and we have a chance to do better in all things in it. As always, everyone is welcome to the Pre-PT devotional MWF at 0545 in the hallway to left of the lobby in the Sanderson Center. This is a good way to start your day and one way to ensure you make it to PT. In our days at college we are, whether we realize it or not, developing our bodies, minds, and spirits. The ways we develop the first two are obvious: we are in college to get an education symbolizing a gain of knowledge, and we are in the final initial growth stages of our life and it is much easier it turn our bodies into what we want them to be. With both of these, the trend is that if you are educated well and get in shape while you are young, you are more likely to maintain or continue the development that has taken place. You can't "get it back" if you never had it. That is why we must realize the importance of this development and take full advantage of it. These rules also apply to the other most important part of our life we are developing, our spirit. Our spirit can be characterized as who we are: our soul, our beliefs, our attitudes, our personality. Pages could be written about how our spirit defines us. A good person is good not because his body is in shape or his mind is sharp. In the same sense, a bad person can be very fit and extremely smart. This is where developing our spirit counts. We are training to be leaders in many ways. It will be our spirits that set us apart as leaders. Those confident and inspiring will be great leaders and those who lack in spirit will struggle although everything else seems to be in place. What kind of person do you want to lead you? That is the person you must strive to be. Do not lack in spirit because it will lead to disappointment. This is why I have the Pre-PT devotional. I need to grow in spirit while allowing others to do the same. Perhaps it is you that will make my spirit grow. I urge you all to seek some kind of spiritual growth and never be satisfied with the condition of your spirit. A knife that is used and is not sharpened grows dull. Remember, we are leaders and many other to come will want to be us. So, by developing these three key aspects of our life we are already molding the generations to come. I am a 100 and I want to be the best person I can be that I may be an inspiring leader when others look up to me. I also appreciate all the efforts of those above me to show me how to be a great leader. Your efforts improve my efforts. I hope everyone has a great week and sets their goals above the standards. Remember, attending the Pre-PT devotional is only one way to grow spiritually.
