This is for your information and your own future reference. 1. For those of you not aware, "spam" is a term for unwanted email, usually ads for ridiculous investment schemes or XXX websites. Nobody wants it, yet everyone gets it. 2. Some of you may have received email with subject lines such as "Someone has a crush on you!" or something similar. No matter how promising and legitimate the emails sound, DO NOT FOLLOW THEIR INSTRUCTIONS. They will tell you to go to a site and enter your email address and other information. However, they will not tell you who submitted your name to the site. That requires you to enter several email address of your friends and even more personal information. Most of the time this is completely futile, as you received the initial email not because a friend has a crush on you, but because your name was part of a mass mailing list. In the end, all the information you submit gets added to multiple mailing lists and your inbox will never be the same. 3. When you receive something in your inbox that seems too good (or too horrible) to be true, it probably is. I highly suggest that you visit www.snopes.com before you hit that Forward button. The website is the Urban Legends Reference Page, and it debunks hundreds of the most popular (and obnoxious) items that usually end up being forwarded all over the place.
