afrotc-l: PT for 100s

To all 100's:

I am a firm believer that PT is a good way for a person to start their day.
Personally, I have increased my fitness level drastically
by doing little more than attending PT on MWF.
I think waking up early in the morning helps to get your mind focused
and more prepared for the field training environment.
If you have trouble with any aspect of the PFT then attending PT will help.
I know at this point in the semester it may be a lost cause to try to get
most of
you to attend PT if you do not already.
However, I am strongly encouraging all 100's to sign up for the PT Class.
Here is the information concerning the class:

Course Subject Course SC Course Status Max Avail Days
Times Location Instructor
Code Title Enrl Seats
33464 PE 3111 02 Adv Mil Phy Fit A 75 71 MWF
06:00am-06:50am SNDRSN Todd Peachey

If you are not used to the PT environment, you will need to before you go to
field training.
However, the problem that I am more concerned with addressing is the
eligibility of cadets to go to field training
based on physical fitness.
This has become more of an issue this semester because no longer is everyone
guaranteed a field training spot and
the physical fitness level of some cadets is not as high as it should be.
When it is time for our class to take the QFR next spring, I don't want
anyone to doubt their ability to pass.
If you need extra motivation to get up in the morning for PT, being enrolled
in the class should help to
motivate you.
Plus the PT class is a lot of fun as you help motivate your fellow cadets.
If you don't have the drive it takes to simply wake up and come to PT, then
you may not have what it takes to make
it at field training from what I have heard from the POC and Cadre.
So, again I encourage all 100's to sign up for the PT Class so that you will
be a high speed cadet.

Respectfully,

C/4C Parker
