chialpha-l: Scripture memory/plans, etc.

Hey guys! We didn't want to keep you any longer in Chi Alpha tonight, so here's what is going on and at the end is the Scripture memory plan.

Fri., Oct. 25--Let us know by Mon. or Tues. if you can go to Tuscaloosa to fellowship with their Chi Alpha. We could either spend the night or come home afterwards. If not many of you can go, we will plan a fellowship night here in Starkville for this night.

Wed., Oct. 30--The Chi Alpha group at Ole Miss will be having a concert/outreach on their campus. They have invited us to attend. It starts around 7:00 p.m. Let us know if you would like to go.

(Also, regarding a possible retreat with Chi Alpha @ Ole Miss... after getting feedback from you guys and their group, we decided that next semester would be a better time for a retreat.)

Friday, Nov 1, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. -- Book table outside the Union. As we have done it in the past, we will set up a table to pass out information about Chi Alpha.

Sat., Nov. 9, 7:00 p.m.--Tait, Eddie James and Colourblind concert at MUW--We want to get a group together to go. Tickets are $5 plus tax.

Mondays--We still are meeting to pray in the chapel at 7:00. If you can't come, please still set apart sometime during the week to pray for campus and our group.

Scripture Memory: If you guys are like me, it is difficult for me to discipline myself to memorize Scripture unless I have a plan. We would like to e-mail you a plan each week to follow that is simple and taken from The Navigators Scripture Memory Course. (It would be a good investment to buy the booklet because it comes with the verses already typed out in several versions. It also gives the plan each week with some questions for meditation. You can get it through www.christianbook.com. If you want to see the booklet before buying it, you are welcome to see ours.) Anyway, here is the plan for this week:

Days 1 & 2-- Memorize 2 Corinthians 5:17. Read 2 Corinthians 5:14-21 to get the context of the verse.
Days 3 & 4--Memorize Galatians 2:20. Read Gal. 2:17-21 to get the context of the verse.

Days 5-7--Review 2 Corinthians 5:17 and Gal. 2:20 each day.

Sorry that this is such a long message. Just one last note: We are excited about what God is doing in each one of your lives. We see such a desire for God in you.
