computerdisc-l: New Textbooks and Software for A Sites

We are an A Site.  We are at long last going to be able to upgrade our labs.  We are not sure about the textbooks that we will need when we upgrade to Windows '98.  We have been working in 3.1.  At the January meeting we met with the people from Glencoe.  Looking through their books very quickly just confused us.  We don't know exactly what we will be allowed to buy.  We definitely need a new keyboarding program.  Someone told us to get the Micro Type Pro program.  What works best for you?  Is the new Horizons any good?  What books are the E and F Sites using?  Please give us some advice.

 

Also, I contacted our representatives and senator from our district and asked if they were aware that our school is an A Site and will benefit from the money that is allocated to upgrading the labs.  They were aware that there would be a vote in February but not that our school would benefit.  They thanked me for letting them know and said that they would definitely do all they could to give us as much as possible.  Please contact your representatives and encourage them to give us what we need.  It may help you when your time comes!
