computerdisc-l: 9 month/10 month contracts

Hi,

I am wondering how many of you are on 9 month
contracts and how many of you are on 10 month
contracts.

I was told that this decision is a "district"
decision. I am currently on a 9 month contract
and I am teaching at an "E" site. I am finding
that I am putting in a lot of extra hours and I
believe that if I am doing the work of a 10-month
employee, I should be paid for it.

Is there any possibility of the state requring
all Tech-Prep (vocational) teachers be paid on a
ten month contract?

I was also told by my director that the first year
required a lot of extra work that would not be
needed after the first year, but I don't see how
any year would be any different. There are so
many things that I have to do in my lab that cannot
be done at home:-)

Overworked and Underpaid...

Always,

Donna Green
