Re: computerdisc-l: Earphones

HI,

I use Lysol and paper towels.  The students would spray the paper towels and then wipe the headphones.  This is what was suggested during my training.  At first I passed the towels and Lysol around the room.  It began to take a great bit of time to do this and the students got tired of it.  So after a while I just left the towels and Lysol on my desk and the students that wanted to use it could.

Also I do not know what type of headphones you have, but I have had lots of problems with mine, I have had many quit working on one side and have had to replace them.

Subject: computerdisc-l: Earphones

At Batesville Jr. High we are an A Site.  We have installed most of our new equipment.  Today I was opening all the new earphones and it occurred to me that we would have to provide something to clean the earphones between classes.  What we need to know is what other sites use and how do you set it up -- cotton balls with alcohol, individual alcohol pads, etc.?  Do you keep them on the workstation or pass them out when a student asks for one?  Would everyone who uses earphones please respond?  We also are trying to figure out a way to "hang" the earphones on the computer.  Are there any suggestions for that?  Next year we will be moving to a new building and will be able to put them on a shelf hook.  This year we have no other place.

Thanks,
Mitzi Still
