I taught e-mail using the SOS simulation first, and then we used
http://www.nschool.com.

With the SOS simulation, I could monitor the e-mails, etc. and the students
knew that.  Our school district signed on with nschool and we haven't had
any complaints, except it runs slow at times.  Our technology coordinator
had to key in all of the students by their name and password, but that
didn't take long.  I used the same login and password for nschool that I
used for the other programs, so I could monitor it, if I wanted to...

Nschool also has the forum feature, which I used.
