I understand your sentiment; it is very frustrating working with old computers/technology. As a computer technician for our school, I work on machines that seem to be on their last leg; the students know there are better machines out there (sometimes at their house!) so they certainly don't appreciate the exposure as much as they should. But don't give up. There will be some work done on your labs; the "what" is apparently in the final stages of the decision-making process. Have heart. There are new technologies that are relatively inexpensive, fast, and exciting; some of these will surely find their way into the B-site labs in one form or another. Just keep an open mind; their are options for improving existing technologies that I know I haven't been exposed to yet--maybe you too.
