-------- Original Message -------- Subject: Works 2000 textbook Date: Wed, 27 Jun 2001 13:44:48 -0500 From: Cassandra Shidler <cas@olemiss.edu> Organization: Oxford School District, Oxford Middle School To: Beth Rogers <burogers@network-one.com> References: <3B389A94.9FBC966E@network-one.com> We looked at "Microsoft Works 2000: Complete Concepts and Techniques" by Shelly, Cashman, & Gunter (Shelly Cashman Series) and "Microsoft Works 2000" by Michael Halvorson (Illustrated Series). Both books are from Thompson Learning: Course Technology (Publishers). We are going to use the Halvorson book for a number of reasons, appropriate material, grade-level reading, cost (29.50 vs. 65), replacement cost, accurate illustrations, resource materials (1 teacher pack & 1 student pack per 15 books ordered-similar to Horizons 3.0). The "Shelly Cashman" book seems to be a really good book, but it's more book than we want at this level. Hope this helps.
