Re: computerdisc-l: Welcome our new teachers!

Welcome to our wonderful world. I am in my third
year... My first year we had nothing in our room
except some chairs and tables. I used a cardboard box
as my chalk board. Last year was great!
This year I had to box my entire lab because we had to
have a new roof and a/c system. Now I am back to
unpacking and building my lab.

The reason I told you about my problems is NOT to
complain. I LOVE WHAT I DO everyday and I would
rather do my own house keeping because that lab is my
"baby". I am sure there are those out there who feel
the same way.

I have found that I really have the easiest teaching
job in the entire school. My kids WANT to learn. I
have few discpline problems and it is a classroom that
allows EVERYONE to learn something.... I had an eigth
grader who was reading at the second grade level. At
the end of the year he created a Scrape book of the
United States. IT was great. He was so proud because
he was able to do this assignment using the skills
that I taught him. He recieved recognition for the
best SOcial Studies Project.

I rarely write to the server, but I read every e-mail
from the server. It is very comforting to know that I
have people out there who go through much of what I do
on a daily basis. This is the second best thing about
my job.

If it wasn't for the success of my students and
knowing that I have made a difference I would leave my
field and go else where.

Oh... I told my principal the other day, that even
when I go home sick and tired and beat, and
frustrated, I wake up every school day glad I am going
to teach kids, after all that is why we do this.

Well I have written my yearly letter, good luck and
NEVER forget that we are here for all of you!
