computerdisc-l: Speech and Handwriting Recognition in Mississippi



I have been asked to give an update on speech and handwriting recognition that is being utilized in our state.

If you are currently using this technology, please take a minute to respond to the questions below on or before Friday, February 21.

Also, if you have attended training/workshop presentation related to speech/handwriting recognition, please provide feedback as to inclusion of this technology in your program area on or before Friday, February 21.

1.  Are you teaching speech/handwriting recognition as part of your course?  If yes, which course (please include % of course content or approximate number of hours)?

2.  What software are you using to teach speech/handwriting recognition?  Please rate the effectiveness of the software package being used.

3.  What textbooks are you using to teach speech/handwriting recognition?  Please rate the effectiveness of the textbook being used.

4.  Would you recommend speech/handwriting recognition be included in your curriculum framework?  If yes, where and why?
