RE: computerdisc-l: RE: textbooks

Title: Message
I ment for this message to go to Ashley... but I accidentally sent it to the entire listserv....

Sherry really needs to answer that question, but I will do my best to share my information.

It is my understanding that school districts will get this information when they get upgrade money.  All schools do not have the funding to upgrade to office, but some school districts do have a district license for  the Office package.  I know of many schools who are going ahead and upgrading with this license.

As far as books, I don't know - some teachers may have that answer or you may ask Sherry.

These are questions that you want to have ready to ask at the Curriculum Distribution meeting this summer.  Make sure you register at http://www.rcuonlinelearning.com/summer2003

Sorry if there was confusion in this message.

I am curious to know who is paying for the upgrades to Microsoft Office and who is responsible for the books that we will need.

Because of the curriculum change, all computer discovery labs will be upgrading to Microsoft Office. It is strongly encouraged for schools to leave works and go to office. I don't know of any other text book that you could order to support Works.

You may want to post a message to the Computer Discovery Listserv about this. The address is computerdisc-l@Lists.MsState.Edu.

Just ask the teachers what book they are getting to support Works. You will get more aswers from them instead of me. Don't tell them I told you to post the message.

Robin
