Good Evening Business and Computer Technology Instructors,

As many of you are aware, there is a major threat of Hurricane Ivan making landfall in or around the Mississippi Gulf Coast area.  Jackson is located approximately 180 miles north of Biloxi. Approximately 20% of the conference attendees are from south Mississippi. The weather is unpredictable at this point and I do not want to be forced to make a cancellation decision at the last minute.

The MBEA Fall Conference will be canceled September 16-17, 2004.  The conference has been rescheduled for October 7-8, 2004.  All event information will remain exactly the same, only the dates will be moved.  I am very sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause to any of the presenters.  Please contact me should you have scheduling conflicts for October 7-8.  Unfortunately, this is the only available time to reschedule the hotel facilities.  Eagle Ridge is aware of this change and will move all guests to the October 7 date.  You may want to call the hotel directly to verify your reservation change (601-857-7100).  Eagle Ridge will also be contacting each person individually.

I will send out more detailed information next week.  Thank you all so much for your time and effort.  I hope that you will all still be able to participate on October 7-8.  Please pass this email along to anyone who may need to know this information.

Please keep our south Mississippi friends in your thoughts this week.
