RE: computerdisc-l: Keyboarding skins

I also used the skins for a short period of time but when I had to change keyboards, they did not always fit the generic keyboards the tech dept sent to me.  So......I popped all the alphabetic keys off with a nail file and placed them on the table.  I then had a few students put the letters back on the keyboard (you just pop them back on).  I did leave the F and J keys in place but the others were all mixed up........one keyboard may have six Ws,etc.  The kids find it VERY interesting when they see the keyboards for the first time but it breaks the tendancy to look at the keys immediately........it may say W on the key but it may type an R.

I painted mine with black nail enamel works better and the kids can still feel the ridges on f and j.

Do you have any information about keyboard covers or skins? I use some from Hoolean but they no longer make them. Please send information to everyone on the listserv by clicking Reply to All.
