computerdisc-l: Career and Computer Discovery

As a result of the Discovery Task Force that assembled to examine the current 7th and 8th grade discovery course (Career Discovery and Computer Discovery) curriculums, a two year course conversion from career and computer discovery to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) I and II has been recommended. This high quality, research based curriculum is aligned with industry, technology, 21st century skills, and academic standards. After completion of ICT II, students will have the opportunity to attain a certification called IC3 that is recognized by businesses and industries worldwide. Currently, the new curriculum is being validated, so please take this opportunity to participate by visiting the website http://ict.rcu.msstate.edu.

After approval from the state board, implementation of this curriculum is expected to take place the school year of 2008-2009. Extensive teacher training will be available both online and face-to-face, as early as this summer.
