computerdisc-l: RE: other questions

Here are other questions that I have received multiple times. Detailed
information related to the questions below can be found on the ICT website
(http://ict.rcu.msstate.edu).

When are all of these changes going into affect?
Upon approval, the new curriculum will be piloted during the 2007 - 08
school year. This will give the pilot sites time to get their labs ready.
It will also give the teachers time to get the appropriate training.

After the pilot year, we plan on implementing state-wide by using a 5-year
phase in process. The selection process for pilot & phase sites is
currently being developed. If you are interested in becoming a pilot site,
please let me know. I have had many people interested, and I am keeping a
list for the state department.

What training will we need? When will we get it?
We will offer regional training for IC3 certification and keyboarding
training for those who need it during the summer of 2006 & 2007. If funds
allow, we will also offer training during the summer of 2008. The IC3
certification and the keyboarding requirement will be a pre-rec for the
methods of ICT training. Teachers will have the opportunity to participate
in the methods of ICT training the summer prior to their implementation
year.

Please continue to send me questions. Thanks for all of your comments.

When are all of these changes going into affect and will we have to have
schooling on it? If we do when will it be?
