Grower
Head Grower needed for an expanding
greenhouse tomato operation in Alabama. Applicants must have proven and
consistent production numbers of 45-50lbs/plant, dependable volume forecasts
and management skills. The qualified grower will have proficiency in:
growing tomatoes in coco slabs on gutters, interplant techniques, grafted
plants, and Sercom or equivalent computer controls. Good mechanical
aptitude and broad knowledge of all irrigation equipment and controls is
mandatory.
This position reports to the General Manager and
is responsible for all greenhouse operations, production, facilities and
equipment. The head grower must be a high energy, hands on worker and
trainer capable of leading production and pack house staff to appropriate
production levels.
Final selection will be strongly influenced by a
positive attitude toward work and team members, a strong work ethic, and
personal ethics compatible with our unique farm culture.
Salary range is $45,000 –
$55,000, commensurate with experience and proven production.
An atypical production bonus rewards the head grower and his staff for meeting
and/or exceeding quality and production goals as set by the management
team.
