info: University Information System Class Email Lists

There are a couple of issues that you should be aware of if you are using the Class Email List feature of the University Information System.

First, you need to be sure to enter the correct address into the List Manager address on the form and be sure that it is correctly spelled. For example, if I entered raven@ra.msstate.edu as the list manager but sent email to the list from raven@its.msstate.edu then the email would bounce.  Likewise, if I misspell the address as raven@ra.state.edu and sent mail from raven@ra.msstate.edu.  If you get a message referring to a
"Non-member submission", this usually indicates one of these errors.

Second, be aware that the student addresses in the system are typically entered by the students themselves.  If they misspell their addresses or give invalid addresses then the email to them will bounce.  The students can correct this themselves by going to the student information system and updating their address with correct
information.
