Teachers and Administrators,

It is once again time for the Professional Development Needs Assessment. In an effort to plan meaningful, high quality professional development for Mississippi's vocational and technical educators, the staff members at the RCU and OVTE have compiled these surveys. They include individual surveys for all vocational program areas. The surveys can be found online at http://www.rcuonlinelearning.com/needs/.

If for some reason your teaching area is not listed under any of the listed surveys, please participate in a general survey for your program area. This general survey is listed at the end of the web page.

In order for these data to be significant, it is vital that Mississippi's vocational teachers and administrators participate. The information from these surveys will be evaluated to determine the Connect Summer 2004 professional development opportunities. Please strongly encourage fellow staff members, including Career, Computer, and Technology Discovery teachers located at Middle Schools and teachers located on high school campuses to participate. If there are teachers who are uncomfortable using the Internet and need help accessing the surveys, please help them or find someone who can.

We are depending on you to help us pass the word to every vocational and tech prep teacher. Please let everyone in your building know about these surveys and ask them to participate. We have sent memos to vocational administrators asking them to do the same. Our goal is to have 100% participation in this years needs assessment.
