For the first time, Mississippi teachers can participate in an economics workshop at the Advanced Placement Institute which will be held at Millsaps College in Jackson July 9-14. The Institute will be beneficial to teachers who are seeking guidance in beginning an AP Economics course or strengthening an existing one. Scholarship opportunities for the Institute are available as a result of a grant from the Phil Harden Foundation to the Mississippi Council on Economic Education (MCEE). The scholarship includes $450 for tuition for the AP Institute, $200 per person for double occupancy in the residence hall and a $100 stipend. Scholarship applications are available through MCEE by e-mailing mscouncil@mscee.org or calling (601) 961-4408. Applications for the scholarships are due May 2 and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Denise Hanebuth Program Coordinator Marketing/Cooperative Education P.O.
