Recommended reading/listening

At this moment, I am listening to the audiotape "Empires of the Mind" by
Dr. Denis Waitley. This is a *MUST* read/listen!!!!! I have both the
book and the tapes, so I recommend this to you, too. I shall bring the
tapes to class and allow someone to take them this next week for
listening. I expect some "high-powered" reactions to this.

Now, here's another challenge for some of you. Perhaps you know Mr. Tom
Love, graduate teaching assistant in the Technology & Education
Department. He has a MAGNIFICENT multi-tape set by Earl Nightingale
entitled, "Leading the Field." I wish some member of class would contact
Mr. Love and seek his permission for you to listen to this series, then
provide a comprehensive evaluation for us, with a specific slant toward
how this can help us in technology planning.

OK, you eagles, we're at the end of the runway, ready to take off! Let's
go get'em!!!

Here are some quotes from Dr. Waitley that you'll hear many, many more
times. These definitely are "journal gems" that I'm putting into my
journal so I can reflect upon these many, many times...and offer them to
others as seeds of germination for their greatness:
"We must *learn* from our mistakes, but not lean on our successes."
"We must accept responsibility for our actions but not credit for
  our achievements."
 "We must challenge our assumptions."
"We must stick to our convictions but abandon our assumptions."

Think on these things!
