Dear Larry,
Thanks for the intro. I am leaving town next Tuesday for a week and a half.
Unfortunately, my display is down on my laptop so I will be incommunicado for
a few days. I will check back with the group when I return.
It was so nice to see you and to meet your dynamic students.

What a privilege is ours this semester in "Seminar in Planning for
Instructional Technology." I have a terrific announcement to make and I
know you will be thrilled that NCTP has been able to "wrangle" a special
person to join our class as an online advisor.
Dr. Deborah Porter from Pittsburg, Texas has agreed to join our class
discussion list and serve this semester as an online consultant/advisor to
all of us in two main areas: Resource Development; and Grant Writing.
Dr. Porter is an accomplished grant writer, having been successful in
receiving several millions of dollars through her efforts for schools in
her region of Texas. Recently, three of us from Mississippi State
University were privileged to address some educators at the Region VIII
Education Service Center in Mt. Pleasant, TX...and I was ecstatic when I
learned that Dr. Porter has written the grant which provided the funding
for that huge collection of folks to gather for several days of intense
planning.
She is an extremely accomplished musician, too. She even gave me a copy
of her CD, containing the music she plays on her musical instrument (I
won't give away her secret; I'll let her tell you about this intriguing
instrument). Also, she sings along with several numbers. So, I hope Dr.
Porter will tell us more of her interests, experiences, abilities, etc.,
related to music, technology, family, and so forth.
Now, I've opened the door for you to tell us about yourself, Dr. Porter.
We await your golden words!
And....I know we will all learn a great deal from you this semester.
Thanks for agreeing to be an online mentor for us.
