I have mixed opinions on this. I feel that if the computers are good and have not been overused then they would be great for lower age groups. These younger children mostly use them for classroom games to improve certain subject areas. I would think a school would accept anything useful to get involved in technology regardless of the grade level. My computer now is a Pentium 66 and over 3 years old. I still am using it and it is fast enough for what I do. I am going to buy a new one soon, but this one has served me greatly. As for increased cost, all technology needs maintenance. Maybe if the business would agree to fund additional money for maintence for a year or so until the school could get brand new computers. I don't think any technology should be turned away. Granted, you would want these used machines to be internet ready. I would not want to get anything too out of date. My mom works at the hospital and they get new computers every year. They donate their old ones to area schools and they are only a year old. I guess I am sort of straddling the fence. I am going to have to lean more to the side of the schools. I feel that technology as long as not too outdated would be a great gift from any business that has the abilities to donate. LaShona Oaks
