Hi Dr. Anderson, I have read some of Ayn Rand's books. Unfortunately, when I read The "Fountainhead" I was young and learned mostly dirty words not much social significance. Since then I have read "Anthem" - very short, easy read, utopian society gone wrong. Reminded me of course of "1984" which I loved and required my 1990's classes to read. At first they had a hard time getting past the title. However, to shorten this, my son is saving "Atlas Shrugged" for me. He said it has interested him in anthropology/archealogy as a major so that he can explore some of the questions "Atlas Shrugged" brought up. I'll let you know. I may be able to read it in Aug. AFTER your class. My web site is almost ready. I should be uploading to my server in the next few days. A question, though, do I need to have a Ra account for this class? Have been receiving the majordomo class postings without any problems. My employer is letting me take off next week to stay glued to the class discussions. Since I am off, would it be better if I came to State and participated first hand. I signed up via internet so that I would not need to leave a new job. What is your best advice? Thanks for all your help. Pat McIntyre Larry S.
