I thought you might find this useful. This District is within KCC's
district. We are currently looking at what the school is doing so that
we can be prepared for our future students.  Dawn Russert is the
contact, should you have any questions. She tells me visits are daily.
Families are finding them on the web and moving specifically to be in
their district!  Mentioned a few keys points to spark your interest.

* Teacher's contract which incorporates their vision of training their
instuctors. What type training & their ability to purchase
computers & printers through payroll deduction.

* Specific Staff Development: The specifics!

* Change Management: Look at the quotes of the past! We should think
about what we say today! The last letter from a student really makes the
point!

* Corporate Partnership: Is not available? I'll email Dawn about it! I
would be very interested in this!

* Technology Infrastructure: Interesting to see what they are doing &
specifically how it is impacting student learning! Here
you will find:

-  students developed a laser light show with the help of laser & optic
scientists from Sandia National Labs in New Mexico

- kindergarteners who learned about the Azores from email a teacher &
classroom there

- second graders who email students in England & learn about their
culture

- 24 hour access for parents/students to homework

- communication via email to establish stronger bonds between
parents/teachers/students!
