CALGARY TECHNOLOGY PLAN SYNOPSIS
Jim Langley and Cindy Lee Martin are both Specialist affiliated with the
Technology in Learning, Board of Education in Alberta, Canada.
Steps used in Developing Technology Plans were:
1. Understanding External Forces Relevant to Education Investing
Planning Process and other plans. (Committees reviewed Technology plans
already developed)
2. Accessing the School"s Capacity for Change.(Committees prepared surveys
to determine classroom applications and technology within their systems)
3. Working Committee will Prepare First Vision Document(Committees developed
specific visions for the plan which included evaluations to Teachers,
Superintendent, and Principals)
4. Final Document of Vision and Direction Developed.
3 Common Directions: 1. Meaningful Learning Opportunities
2. Each School adapt their own Tech. Plan
3. Staff Access to Technology
5. Set goals and Actions to Achieve.(Committee developed goals/actions to
meet these goals}
6. Prepared Implementation Process.(Approval and Support was
accepted to prepare Implementation Process}
7. Prepare Budget and Funding.
8. Review the Final Process and Product for Accountability.(Committee
reviews helped to determine effectiveness of the plan)
