I attempted to listen to the recording of Bob Hughes, I heard the majority
of it, but it was very messed up.
>From hearing what it says it reminds me of what I heard the last 3 weeks. I
spent the last 3 weeks in a workshop that was in corporation with MSU and
Peavey Electronics. Three years ago Melia Peavey and Dr. Sandra Harpole
developed the Learn to Work Workshop for Educators. I spent a week actually
touring the plants of Peavey Electronics in Meridian. Every plant that you
went into they would stress the importance of teaching basic skills and work
ethics. Many of todays jobs in industry require computer training because
many are ran by computers. But they also need someone who is able to read
forms, add and subtract, and read a ruler.
I read an article that said the most high schools are college prep oriented
but only 8% actually go to college or finish college. So I ask what happens
to the other 92% who do not go to college what does that leave them.
Here are some sites I thought you might like looking at:

I also found this picture of Bob Hughes for those who haven't been able to
find him.
