A great deal of work, no sleep, little food, lots of coffee and some great
fellowship describes this past week. On the other side Ihave accomplished
great deal, although I am tired to the bone, I have a good feeling about
myself and what I have learned and I treasure the friends with whom I have
shared this week.
In class we have seen Jim Rohn on video who said, "Don't wish it were
easier, wish you were better."
Les Brown inspried us by describing how he overcame many seemingly
insurmountable obsticles, to become a great public speaker. So I guess I
won't complain about getting just a little sleep.
Bob Hughes described his vision of including technology for every child
and incentives for teachers. He quoted a line from the movie Saving Private
Ryan,"What ar you going to do to earn it." Referring to what all the men
went through who lost so much trying to save him. Incidentally I took my dad
who is retired Army, a WWII and Viet Nam vetrean, to see the movie. He said
it was a very realistic movie.
Steve Jobs was so inspirational I'm ready to get an iBook. I am amazed to
realize that someone actually thinks up and designs such a technological
wonder as a computer and laptop.
Chris Kimball was also so inspiring telling what his school system is
doing with technology and teacher training. I wish he would come to Tupelo
to talk with Dr. Vinson (our superintendent). I would love to go to the
conference in Atlanta.
Cheryl Lemke was enthusiastic in her description of technology and
including it in school.
All of the people we have heard and those we have been able to talk to
have been so inspiring and their enthusiastic is contagious. After a few
days to catch my breath, I think I will really be ready for school to start
and jump in using some of the techonology I have learned this summer.
