via the Internet this month's Town Hall meeting from Seattle,

When you visit the site you will see a 'forum' button, this feature
goes live for discussions prior to the webcast. It is a collaborative
opportunity for you to discuss your opinions before and after the
broadcast, beginning today, 9/17/99.
HOW: This seminar is presented with QuickTime live streaming video.
To view the presentation, you'll need to have an internet browser,
version 4.0 or higher, QuickTime 4.0 installed on either a Macintosh
or Windows CPU, and have at least a 56K modem. Watching video over
the internet is at it best with a faster internet connection, such as
your campus network or at your home with ISDN, ADSL, or cable modem.
You can install QuickTime 4.0 for free by visiting the Apple
QuickTime web site.
WHY: To connect with leading educators Every high school, no matter
how many students it serves, can help provide a personalized learning

are using new instructional techniques, utilizing technology,
improving professional development, and engaging students in
community service and work-based experiences to enhance classroom
learning. Strong high schools are building partnerships with
employers, postsecondary institutions, community leaders and parents
to enhance reform efforts. And despite the need for large buildings
and heightened concerns about security, innovators in high schools
rethinking traditional structures and creating exciting, engaging
places to learn. Live from Seattle, Washington, the Town Meeting
will feature high schools that are re-imagining the way they do
business, including recently recognized New American High Schools and
New Urban High Schools.
