This is, indeed, a dilemma we face....especially in the field of
technology planning.

Very infrequently do we have "models of excellence" to follow.
Conversely, we find that it is *we* who are creating the models for others
to follow. That's part of what makes us leaders....and not merely
puppeting followers.

So, I would say, "no," April (and all others), there won't be a plethora
of sterling examples for your to copy. You'll have to make up your own.
It matters not whether your model is as good as someone else's work. It
matters not that you include every possible, conceivable angle. It
matters not that you attain perfection on your first try.

What *does* matter, though, is that we all make the attempt. Haven't we
each learned something new when we have tried our hand at some of this
tech planning stuff? After all, how many of you felt perfectly
comfortable when you performed your very first tech plan critique?

I, too, tend to be a visual learner. I enjoy creating physical (or even
pseudo-physical) models to aid me in my thinking and my understanding. I
think, sometimes, in terms of matrices, rubrics, and polydimensional
frameworks. Once I settle, in my mind, how I structure a concept, it
becomes easier for me to translate that into a narrative, if such is
called for.

So, I'd say....let's all try. Let's see what we can do.

Thanks, April, for bringing up this matter so we each could examine how it
fits into our personal frame of reference for learning.

I am, indeed, quite proud of the work y'all are doing this semester.
Let's keep up the excellent work.
