tkt8763-01: real-life

Here's a real-life situation I'm sure you all can assist me with:

In planning for Orientation 2000, I am trying to think of new, creative ways the Orientation Leaders can conduct their small group presentations using technology. In the past, OLs have always developed flip charts that include information on student life, campus resources, etc. etc.

The OLs have the flexibility to be as creative as they want to be and make them as interesting as possible by using cartoon characters, decorative art, etc. and incorporate the information for their small groups. The flip charts are great "prompts" for the OLs to remind them to cover very specific information entering freshmen need.

What suggestions do you have (if any) on how I can fine-tune this portion of our orientation? Keep in mind that while most OLs probably have computer experience, some may not have experience in layout and design, PowerPoint, etc. An ideal situation might be to use PowerPoint presentations, but then there's the dilemma of equipment for all 18 leaders - which we definately cannot fund!!!

Additionally, studies show that today's students expect information during orientation, but they may want it in a more concise and timely manner. Long sessions on campus services will probably not be as well received.

Are there some resources I am not thinking about on campus that we might partner with? I am open for ideas, comments, suggestions. I feel like somewhat of a technology planner...

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
