Good tips, Sandra. Here's a couple more.
The "rapid fire" button works great for the free association stuff.
Formatting and arranging the text bubbles in the early stages can be a
"magnet" that draws your attention away from the task-at-hand. It's probably
better to do that later on - zooming-out helps to get the big picture for
formatting and arranging.
And remember there's lots of images you can use. Try scrolling through the
symbol palette (can be opened through the "View" pull down menu. And you can
use your own images, too. It's very easy. Just scroll to the "custom"
palette and start pasting your favorite images into the "user1" page.
