You are invited.......
to tune in to a live webcast (audio only, however) this afternoon, Friday,
as one of my outstanding graduate classes, "Seminar in Planning for
Instructional Technology" engages in a casual, but exciting, conversation
with one of America's most delightful, energetic, and enthusiastic
teachers.
Mr. Marco Torres, educational "coach" at San Fernando High School in the
Los Angeles Unified School District, is an Apple Distinguished Educator
whose work has been highlighted on the Apple web page that focuses upon
exemplary accomplishments in K-12 teaching.
(You can view Quicktime movies of Marco's work at:
http://www.apple.com/education/k12/imagine)
I had the high honor of meeting Marco in Atlanta at NECC a few weeks ago
and he is *pure dynamite*!!!
Marco was a keynote speaker for the Apple Customer Appreciation Dinner
(which many of you attended). When he completed his remarks, the
audience *bolted* to our feet in a standing ovation for Marco! Also, many
of us were wiping the tears of pure, raw inspiration from our cheeks.
Here was a living example of real teaching is about....and we had had a
few moments to take a glimpse into the life and times of one of America's
finest!
This afternoon, he will be a guest speaker for my class...and we will use
our broadband network to handle this audio call. But, so that so many
more of you might "listen in," we're broadcasting it live on the web.
To click on the link for the broadcast, go to:
http://www.msstate.edu/dept/teched/sip
then hit the link for "audio and/or video clips" near the top of the
page...or you can scroll down to the bottom where you see a listing of
audio calls we've recorded previously. The link for Marco's call will be
at the bottom of that list.
Here are the particulars:
Date: Friday, July 14, 2000
Time: 1:00 PM Central
(11 AM Pacific, 12 noon Mountain, 2 PM Eastern)
We would love to have you "tune in" and join our class.
Please feel free to pass this message along to anybody you feel might
enjoy listening to this broadcast, as well!!
