  • Storyteller Garrison Keillor coming to MSU Riley Center on Sept. 28
    Garrison Keillor, the tall storyteller from small-town Minnesota, will weave his spell Sept. 28 during a 7:30 p.m. performance at the MSU Riley Center in downtown Meridian. Keillor’s appearance will be the second show in the Riley Center’s 2017-2018 Fall/Winter Performing Arts Series. The former host of the long-running public radio show “A Prairie Home Companion” will take the stage solo, accompanied only by a stool and a microphone.

  • Montgomery Leadership Program accepting applications until Sept. 19
    The Montgomery Leadership Program (MLP) is accepting applications, including references, Sept. 19 for the next class of student leaders beginning Spring 2018. MLP Fellows undergo a three-semester study of leadership skills and strategies while actively engaging in their community through service. Students selected to be a MLP Fellow will receive a $250 scholarship the first semester of the program, a $500 scholarship each of the following two semesters and class credit all three semesters. To become a MLP Fellow, you must have completed at least one year of college and be in good standing as an MSU student. If you are willing to take the challenge, MLP will equip you with the tools necessary to transform lives — both yours and others.
