• MSUPD dispatchers temporarily re-located to Hathorn Hall
    In anticipation of upcoming renovations to the Williams Building, the Mississippi State University Police Department’s Communication Division has been re-located to Hathorn Hall. The renovations, which include updates to the dispatch center, a rec room and an interview room, will not impact any other MSUPD units. The department’s headquarters will remain open 24 hours a day.

  • International Institute launches Global Discovery seed grant program
    The International Institute at Mississippi State has launched a new Global Discovery seed grant program. Its purpose is to catalyze international activities with high potential to leverage external funding and promote high impact, scalable, scholarly and creative activities or capacity building, while creating international education opportunities for students. Co-funded by the Division of Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Medicine and the Office of Research and Economic Development, the Global Discovery Seed Grant is administered through the International Institute.

  • Teen blues prodigy Quinn Sullivan plays MSU Riley Center in June
    The MSU Riley Center in downtown Meridian offers an opportunity to catch a rising star when 18-year-old blues guitar prodigy Quinn Sullivan takes the stage June 15 at 7:30 p.m. His latest release, “Midnight Highway,” shows him maturing as a vocalist and songwriter and incorporating a wider variety of influences, such as his love of the Beatles.

  • Mississippi State releases annual ‘Drinking Water Quality Report’
    Mississippi State is pleased to announce that the university’s water system has met all of the requirements of the Mississippi State Department of Health. The water quality report, also referred to as the Consumer Confidence Report, must be provided to customers annually. The annual testing is administered by MSDH.   • Blood Sweat & Tears with Bo Bice to take stage at MSU Riley Center
    A classic rock legend and an “American Idol” favorite join forces as the MSU Riley Center presents "Blood Sweat & Tears Featuring Bo Bice" on June 3 at 7:30 p.m. Blood Sweat & Tears burst onto the music scene in the late 1960s. It combined bluesy rock ’n’ roll with jazzy horns to create an entirely new sound on such hits as “Spinning Wheel,” “And When I Die” and “You’ve Made Me So Very Happy.” Alabama-born Bo Bice, runner-up to Carrie Underwood on the “American Idol” TV talent contest in 2005, adds a bit of a Southern accent to the musical mix with his rich lead vocals.

  • Parking permit registration set to begin July 12 for faculty, staff
    Parking permit registration at Mississippi State for the upcoming year will begin in mid-July. Gated and staff permits will be available beginning July 12 at 8 a.m. Student commuter and residential permits will begin on July 19 at 8 a.m. Please note that all commuter permits are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. All staff and student annual permits are sold online.

  • Parking Services announces summer parking changes
    Parking Services at Mississippi State reminds the campus community that commuter students may park in any commuter zone, and residential students may park in any residential zone, from May 8-Aug. 10. An active 2017 permit is needed to park on campus during the summer. Please visit the Parking Services office in the Roberts Building at 412 Lee Blvd. next to Burger King to purchase a permit.
