• Pre-proposals sought for EPSCoR Track 1 competition
    The Office of Research and Economic Development at Mississippi State is now accepting pre-proposals from researchers for the National Science Foundation’s FY 2017 Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) Research Infrastructure Improvement (RII) Track-1 competition. Preproposals are due by the close of business on Nov. 18.

  • Friday water outage could affect 3 campus buildings
    In order to repair a water valve on the main supply, there will be a possible water outage or loss of pressure on Friday [Sept. 30]. The outage will begin at 9 a.m. and is expected to last for approximately three hours. Deavenport, Dogwood, and Nusz Hall-Center for America's Veterans may be affected.

  • Big Head Todd and the Monsters bring blues to MSU Riley Center Oct. 15
    The Colorado-based rock band Big Head Todd and the Monsters with Mud Moganfield, Billy Branch and Ronnie Baker Brooks will bring its Big Head Blues Club tour to the MSU Riley Center in downtown Meridian on Oct. 15 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will showcase songs by blues great Willie Dixon.

  • Applications sought for Grisham teaching excellence awards
    Mississippi State University faculty who are interested in submitting applications for the 2017 Grisham Master Teacher Award, the Alumni Association Early Career Teaching Excellence Award or the Alumni Association Graduate Teaching Excellence Award have until Oct. 17 to do so. After careful review, the University Instructional Improvement Committee will select and announce the winners before the end of the spring 2017 semester.

    The Department of Anthropology and Middle Eastern Cultures and the Cobb Institute of Archaeology at Mississippi State will host "Dinner and A Mystery" from 6-8 p.m. on Oct. 28. Guests are invited to come dressed in 1920’s-themed attire and be prepared for a fun and mysterious evening.

  • Benefits open enrollment begins Saturday
    Starting Saturday [Oct. 1], benefits open enrollment will be available for eligible Mississippi State University employees. Open enrollment is required only if you are adding new coverage, changing existing coverage or canceling coverage. If you aren’t adding new coverage, changing existing coverage or canceling coverage, you do not need to participate in open enrollment, and your current benefits will continue into 2017.
