• Mississippi State releases annual ‘Drinking Water Quality Report’
    Mississippi State is pleased to announce that the university’s water system has met all of the requirements of the Mississippi State Department of Health. The water quality report, also referred to as the Consumer Confidence Report, must be provided to customers annually. The annual testing is administered by MSDH.   • Deadline for Faculty Leadership Program nominations coming up Friday
    The Office of Research and Economic Development and the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President will again be conducting an Academic Leadership Program for selected faculty at Mississippi State during the upcoming 2017-18 academic year. To apply, interested faculty should send a one-page summary addressing their future career plans, a current abbreviated CV (3-5 pages maximum), and a one-page nomination letter from their center director, department head or dean. These materials should be emailed to Lynn Taylor at no later than Friday [May 26].

  • Temporary power outage May 24 for work at Humphrey Coliseum
    In order to connect Humphrey Coliseum to new electrical services, a temporary power outage has been scheduled for Wednesday [May 24] from 5 a.m. until approximately 10 a.m. The Hump, Palmeiro Center, Dudy Noble Field and baseball offices will be without power during this time.

  • Blood Sweat & Tears with Bo Bice to take stage at MSU Riley Center
    A classic rock legend and an “American Idol” favorite join forces as the MSU Riley Center presents "Blood Sweat & Tears Featuring Bo Bice" on June 3 at 7:30 p.m. Blood Sweat & Tears burst onto the music scene in the late 1960s. It combined bluesy rock ’n’ roll with jazzy horns to create an entirely new sound on such hits as “Spinning Wheel,” “And When I Die” and “You’ve Made Me So Very Happy.” Alabama-born Bo Bice, runner-up to Carrie Underwood on the “American Idol” TV talent contest in 2005, adds a bit of a Southern accent to the musical mix with his rich lead vocals.

  • Parking permit registration set to begin July 12 for faculty, staff
    Parking permit registration at Mississippi State for the upcoming year will begin in mid-July. Gated and staff permits will be available beginning July 12 at 8 a.m. Student commuter and residential permits will begin on July 19 at 8 a.m. Please note that all commuter permits are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. All staff and student annual permits are sold online.

    Parking Services at Mississippi State reminds the campus community that commuter students may park in any commuter zone, and residential students may park in any residential zone, from May 8-Aug. 10. An active 2017 permit is needed to park on campus during the summer. Please visit the Parking Services office in the Roberts Building at 412 Lee Blvd. next to Burger King to purchase a permit.
