  • Information session Thursday for U.S. Student Fulbright Program
    Former Fulbright grantees Nicole Jefferson and David Hoffman are leading an information session about the U.S. Student Fulbright Program on Thursday [Oct. 19] at 2 p.m. in Room 100 at the Cobb Institute. Jefferson holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Mississippi State, and she currently serves as an English as a Second Language instructor in Mexico City, Mexico. Hoffman, who serves as MSU's Fulbright program administrator, is an associate professor in the Department of Anthropology and Middle Eastern Cultures.

  • Singer-songwriter Amos Lee to visit MSU Riley Center in November
    Singer-songwriter Amos Lee aims for the heart as well as the ears. The intimate setting of the MSU Riley Center, where he will appear in concert on November 14, will provide the perfect showcase for his intensely personal lyrics and honeyed folk-soul singing. The show will start at 7:30 p.m. Lee, a Pennsylvania native, has built a major following in the Mid-Atlantic states. Touring as an opening act for such stars as Norah Jones, Bob Dylan and Zac Brown Band introduced him to a wider audience.

    Mississippi State University's Health Promotion and Wellness Department will host two cancer awareness events this month. The fourth-annual Pink Dawg Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness takes place Oct. 11 from 4-6 p.m. at the Chadwick Lake walking track. A lunch-and-learn session for all survivors, caregivers and others affected by cancer will be held Oct. 17 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Grisham Room at Mitchell Memorial Library.

  • Benefits open enrollment underway in October
    Benefits open enrollment begins Monday [Oct. 2], and will be available for eligible Mississippi State University employees through October 31, 2017. Open enrollment is required only if you are adding new coverage, changing existing coverage, or canceling coverage. If you aren’t adding new coverage, changing existing coverage, or canceling coverage, you do not need to participate in open enrollment and your current benefits will continue into 2018. All online elections must be completed by Oct. 26. Completed application forms must be received by HRM no later than Oct. 31.
