STARKVILLE, Miss.— Mississippi State’s Learning Center is accepting registrations for an Aug. 20 ACT preparation workshop at the university.

Open to area high school and other students planning to enter higher education, the program will take place 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. in 246 Allen Hall.

The fee is $75 until Aug. 15, when a $50 late charge will be required.

At the workshop, each participant will receive a copy of “Barron’s Second Edition, ACT 36: Aiming for the Perfect Score.”

Online registration may be completed by visiting www.tlc.msstate.edu and successively clicking the “Events” and “Workshops” tabs.

Because of limited seating, registration is being accepted on a first-come basis until all spaces are filled. Should capacity be reached in advance of the workshop day, a notice will be posted on the above website.

A curriculum-based education and career planning tool to assess the mastery of higher education readiness standards, the testing covers four areas: English, mathematics, reading and science reasoning.

Participants are reminded that reviews and workshops may help them prepare, but are in no way guarantees of testing success.
