MSU cancels Friday afternoon classes due to weather

STARKVILLE, Miss.— Mississippi State University’s Starkville campus will cancel classes beginning at 2:30 p.m. today (Friday, Jan. 12) due to an abundance of caution for travel safety caused by today’s regional winter weather concerns. Other than essential personnel, faculty, staff and students may leave campus at this time.

Scheduled programming for students remaining on campus will continue as scheduled. Food services will remain available. MSU Libraries will close to reopen at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 15.

The university discourages travel this evening, but urges those who feel it necessary to travel to consult family, area media, and the Mississippi Department of Transportation for travel guidance.

MSU is Mississippi’s leading university, available online at www.msstate.edu.
