New Student Convocation (NSC)

This event educates new engineering students, both freshman and transfers, about the opportunities in the Bagley College of Engineering. In the auditorium, students listen to such speakers as Dean Bennett and representatives from Cooperative Education, Career Services, Entrepreneurship Program, and Study Abroad. Then the students divide by major into classrooms where they attend an info session from their departmental student organization (ex: IEEE, ASME). Lastly, the students visit non-departmental organization booths, such as the Engineering Student Council, Society of Women Engineers, etc. Pizza and drinks are served afterwards!!!

There were approximately 200 students at the 2003 New Student Convocation! Thanks to Jenn Dearman and Claire Fellman, the NSC Committee Heads, and all the engineering students and staff who participated!
