Why Join a Fraternity?
Fraternities have a lot more to offer than you might think. At a campus as large as the Mississippi State University, with a student body of about 17,000, it is easy to be intimidated. Fraternities and sororities provide a means of narrowing this number down to the hundreds by meeting people with common interests and beliefs as yourself. Upon pledging a Greek letter organization, you will be immediately cast into an extensive social network ranging from other college freshman to some of the most famous and successful people in the world. Fraternities also offer many opportunities for leadership that teach skills which will translate into your professional life after graduation. There are a wide variety of these positions within a fraternity. One of the most well-known benefits of joining a fraternity is the brotherhood. You will make friends that will last a life time... |

Why Join ATO?
ATO was the first nationally-founded fraternity and continues to uphold the reputation as one of the best fraternal organizations in in the nation. Alpha Tau Omega offers a wide variety of leadership roles, and holds a national conference every year to promote effective leadership. Alpha Tau Omega has a rich history at Mississippi State University, starting in 1937. Our fraternity offers one of the strongest brotherhoods on campus. Our fraternity's involvement with the University is well-established; two of the most well-known buildings on campus adorn the names of our chapter's founders (Harry Charles Flemming Simrall and Lucius Lamar Patterson). Several members also hold influential positions in other prestigious organizations on campus, such as the Engineering Student Council, Campus Activities Board, Intefraternity Council etc. To be an ATO is to be a gentleman, scholar, leader, and above all else, a brother. |
