The Famous Maroon Band of Mississippi State University is at the heart of game-day spirit for Bulldog fans. Who can imagine a football or basketball game without “Hail State” as played by the Famous Maroon Band? The Maroon Band has one of the oldest traditions in the Southeast, having been a part of the Mississippi State family for 104 years.
We are delighted that you have visited our band website. We have much information here that we hope will prove informative for all Maroon Band members of the past, the current membership and their parents, as well as to our prospective band students.

Follow the MSU Wind Ensemble Through Ireland and England
The MSU Wind Ensemble has set up a blog for family members and friends to follow as the band travels
through Ireland and England. Updates will be made throughout the trip, which runs from May 5-13.

Alternate Audition Date Set for Colorguard
We will host a "make up" audition date for our colorguard on Saturday,
May 10th beginning at 9:30 am at the Sanderson Center on campus. Audition material can be found on our

2008 State Band Camp Application Now Available Online
The 2008 State Band Camp will be held July 6-11, 2008 on the MSU Campus.
This camp is open to all students with at least 1 year of band experience.
Last year, nearly 150 students in grades 6-12 came and enjoyed a week of music making on our campus. You can download the application here.
2008 FMB Auditions are Underway!
Auditions have begun for the 2008 edition of the Famous Maroon Band and will continue until June!
We invite all entering freshmen and
community college transfers with band experience to come be a part of our great tradition.
