2007 Alumni Band Set for October 6th!
Mark your calendars now for the 2007 alumni band festivities on October 6th as the Bulldogs take on UAB! This year, alumni band members will be invited to sit in the stands and play during the game. All band alumni are invited to come enjoy the game and renew old friendships. If you plan to attend AND play in the stands, please pre-register at this website or contact the Alumni office at 662-325-2284. We will no longer be able to bring in people who show up at the gate.
Playing members of the alumni band are admitted to the game at no cost. All family members must purchase a ticket to the game. We have received a special pricing of $10.00 on game tickets for alumni band family members. To reserve your tickets, please contact the alumni office at 662-325-2284 or indicate on the web registration form that you wish to reserve tickets. Please make your reservations by September 28th. There is a limit of 5 tickets per family at this price, and these tickets are not in the same seating area as the alumni band.
Registration for alumni band members will take place from 10:00-11:00 at the new band hall. You will receive your music and pay for your reserved tickets at that time. We accept cash or checks (made payable to MSU Bands) only.
Instruments
Please bring your own instruments for the performance. The Maroon Band has a limited number of percussion, sousaphones, mellophones, and baritones that we will lend on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to reserve an instrument, please make sure you indicate that on the web registration form.
Uniform
The performance uniform will be a maroon shirt with khaki shorts or pants and athletic shoes. The Maroon Band does not have maroon shirts for sale this year.
Merchandise
The Maroon Band has CDs, t-shirts, and baseball caps that are available to band alumni at a discounted price. For more information, contact the band office at 662-325-2713.
The official opening of the new multi-million dollar Band and Choral Rehearsal Facility is scheduled for Friday, October 5, 2007. The evening’s activities will begin at 7:30 pm with a dedication concert by the MSU Wind Ensemble and Concert Choir at McComas Hall. Following the concert, the public is invited to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony at 8:45 pm at the new building. Refreshments will be served. If you’re planning to come to the game, we hope you can come one day early and attend this special event.
