President's Message

Nadia Maston, BSA President

It is my honor and privilege to serve as the elected President of the Black Student Alliance for the 2007-2008 school year here at Mississippi State University.  This great organization, the 3rd largest here on campus, was founded with the intent to give not only African-American students, but all minority students a voice.  Many times our opinion was overlooked when major university decisions were being considered, but the formation of the Black Student Alliance made the university administration realize that not only did African-Americans have something to say, but that we wanted them to listen.

In the past, the Black Student Alliance has been known for its outstanding contributions to Mississippi State University and its students.  I have personally made it my goal to not only continue to keep up that excellent name, but to progress and raise it to standards that will make all of those students who once were members, those who currently are, and those who are looking to become members proud to say that they are, or will be a part of this prestigious organization.

As I stated earlier, I will strive to continue to make the Black Student Alliance the best organization on  this campus during my tenure as President.  I feel with your help we can improve Mississippi State University and truly make it the people's university.  I wish you all the best of luck in all future endeavors and I look forward to working with you all this school year.  Together we can "continue to strive towards a common goal...unity."

Sincerely yours,

Nadia Maston
