Families welcome: This race is staged in a remote area but we have made an effort to include activities for children. Families are welcome and encouraged to attend the race. There will be a 2 mile (approx.) race for kids that will be suitable for younger riders (and their “adult in charge” if they wish). The only fee for participating in this race will be $5.00 for a one day USA Cycling license so that each rider will have insurance coverage. There will be a short section of single track trail near the staging area that will not be used in the race where young riders can ride/ play in addition to Noxubee Hill Rd which should have no traffic. There is a gated forest road near the cemetery for hiking and exploration. There will be an old fashioned swing or two, a teeter and at this writing there are large red dirt and gravel piles at the trail head parking area which will make excellent play areas for toy dump trucks and such (race director is not responsible for the filthy children created by playing in the red clay dirt). The staging area has plenty of shade . Note that this area is heavily wooded and you should plan to wear insect repellent and do careful tick checks after leaving the race.
