OCHS FALL FESTIVAL!
The Oktibbeha County Humane Society is thrilled to announce its fall festival “OCHS Bark in the Park” with Girl Power STEM Extravaganza scheduled for Saturday, September 19, 2009 at the Sportsplex. We are partnering with 52MOMS to provide a fun-filled and informative day. More details will follow. We will definitely need volunteers that day as well as co-Chairs. An informational meeting is scheduled for June 6 at 2:15 at the Starkville Animal Shelter for volunteers interested in participating. If anyone is interested in helping out in any capacity, please contact Patricia Cox at shadowlea@hotmail.com or Michele Anderson at ochsvolunteer@bellsouth.net .
Aluminum Can Recycling: Clean cans can be taken directly to Starkville Recycling. Just mention that the money is to go to the Humane Society. You can also drop cans off at the designated area at the Shelter. The money acquired from this helps fund several of our programs as well as help the environment! A win-win for the animals and the community!
In order to properly care for the animals at the Starkville shelter OCHS is in constant need of certain items. Other (larger) items will provide OCHS volunteers the resources necessary to properly feed, bathe, examine, and medicate the animals. Remember, all of your gifts are tax deductible.

If you live in town and want to report stray animals for pick-up, please call Starkville Animal Control at 323-4134, or if you live outside city limits, you can call the County Sheriff's office at 323-2421.

For membership and volunteer information, please email Michele Anderson at ochsvolunteer@bellsouth.net.

A membership application and a volunteer application can be downloaded and returned to the address below.

Additional volunteer information can be found here as well as a Foster Home application for those interested in fostering dogs and cats.

Tax-deductible donations can be sent to OCHS at P.O. Box 297, Starkville, MS 39760.
