
Each year 50 students or 10 percent of the freshman class, whichever is lower, are selected as candidates for membership. These selected freshmen are in high academic standing, having placed in at least the top 35 percent of their class at the time of selection. Also, in order to be eligible for membership selected candidates must have shown a high degree of leadership and involvement throughtout the campus. The students who meet these qualifications are eligible for selection in the spring term following completion of at least one academic term. Members selected in the spring are active Lambda Sigmas during their second year. All freshmen ranked in the top thirty-five percent of their class may apply for membership. All applications are screened, and one hundred applicants are invited to interview for membership.
MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS:
Prior to initiation, each new member of Lambda Sigma pays an initiation
fee which includes national dues and local chapter fees. Dues are $60,
and cover the membership certificate, national publications during
the active year of membership, and general operating expenses.
